Jaeger-LeCoultre circa 1960s Memovox cal. 825 Bumper

The Memovox was an early icon for JLC as it did offer both style and function. In Mad Men, advertising protagonist Don Draper wears a tuxedo black, white, and gilt variation reference E855. Here, we have a classic silk colored dial.

The automatic bumper movement self-winds the watch by bouncing around in the case—similar to the chubby lugs Omega Seamaster in the 1950s. Even better, this one has functional alarm and date complications. This watch was privately inspected and cleaned up—running approximately-36sec/day.

Overall, this piece is in excellent condition for its age maintaining both JL signed crowns. Extra sauce: this one wears like jumbo and is a solid modern daily or eclectic dress watch.

Specs: 37mm steel case X 46H (large of the era) X 13cc

18mm strap is aftermarket and large
