Heuer Camaro Chronograph ref. 73343NT

Heuer is synonymous with chronographs and precision sports timing and iconic motor-racing wristwatches. The Camaro was produced from 1968 to 1972 and named after the Chevrolet Camaro to capture the American motorsports market.

The 73343NT is a highly collectable two-register chronograph and a successor to the reference 7743 with a 30-minute capacity counter at 3 o'clock and a running seconds hand at 9 o'clock.. The "NT" in the reference number designates a "Noir" (black) dial with a "Tachymeter" scale. This tropical Camaro is a circa mid-to-late 1972, with a final “Fourth Execution” version of the line’s most colorful dial powered by a Valjoux 7733 hand-wound movement. Due to specific paint and protective lacquers used by Heuer during this era, we have a lovely patina today: an asphalt dial and pale macaroon hands framed in a steel cushion case.

While not service history, the crown is winding smoothly and the movement is healthy on both timegrapher and on the wrist—chronograph complication is starting, stopping and resetting like it should.
