Invicta World Time vintage Reference 27177 Circa 1970s
Invicta is an actually a Swiss watch company from 1837 under the ownership of the Picard family. In 1959, Invicta was uniquely commissioned by the Soviet Union's Council of Labor and Defense to manufacture exclusive Swiss-made watches for the officers of the naval fleet then fell like many during the 1970s quartz crisis. Invicta today is under new ownership, Invicta pivoted from their traditional, restrained designs into massive, highly distinct, and occasionally divisive timepieces.
Reference 27177 Considered a jumbo for the era, this circa 1970s case aligns well with modern proportions and taste. Even better, it is a cool world time with rotating bezel and just in time for the World Cup. While no service history, it is looking very healthy on timegrapher. Light to minimal wear throughout for age and no damage.
