IWC Schaffhausen Ref. 1410 circa 1960 possibly ref 2401
IWC (International Watch Company) was founded in 1868 by an engineer Florentine Ariosto Jones in Schaffhausen, Switzerland. They are renowned for both the pilot and engineer tool watches. Around the midcentury, they produced watches that rivaled Patek.
Here we have a manual wind piece that can serve as a fine daily or dress watch. The porcelain white dial paired with painted Roman markers serve up a classy aesthetic.
There are clear signs of wear and age—most notably the pitting on caseback. The manual wind movement is smooth and keeping time about as well as it can with a high amplitude—your experience may vary from timegrapher.
