King Seiko Hi-Beat Ref. 5625-7040 circa 1971

The Hi-Beat is peak for the 1960-70s. The frequency refers to the 28,800bph frequency that the automatic movement is humming—quite the “super watch” for the time and still impressive today. While the movement seems to field a lot of attention, the case design and geometry is equally impressive and still seemingly futuristic  one-piece (monocoque) casedesign . We like the analogy: the Acura NSX of watches.

This specific example features a special brushed dial that appears a range of colors in different light from lavender to a Marine metallic grey.

Overall, this gold plated example is decent condition for its age with no outstanding damage or marks except consistent wear on case—the 14k gold cap on caseback is also nicely intact. While the automatic movement has no service history it is healthy on timegrapher it looks serviced and running as well as this movement can (your experience may vary)
