The Yacht-Master was first produced in 1992 but there were prototypes as early as the 1960s. It was intended to be a formidable nautical tool but also be a clear tier higher in luxury with metal materials, more refined case geometry and it also featured a distinct bidirectional rotating bezel with polished, raised numerals with a profile similar to a Daytona with a decisively thinner profile than a GMT or Submariner
This blue dial variation with red hand and platinum bezel with 904L steel case aka Roleslium is arguably the coolest variant with white gold surrounds and chroma light lume was first produced in 2012 and discontinued in 2019.
When watches come from the factory they are stickered and those same stickers appear intact on case and parts of bracelet. This is the situation here: those are not scratches but the original stickers still on the watch and they were never peeled. So this watch appears NOS: nee old stock
While there is no service history, the calibre 3135 movement is running strong and winding super smoothly, even better, long term this movement is one of the crown’s work horses as it was born in 1988 and was used all the way up until approximately 2020.
