Rolex Explorer I ref 124270 from 2024
Since the conception of the original Explorer 1016 from the 1960s, the proportions for this time tool have been meant for adventure: 36mm case X 19mm lug width bracelet. There are 39 and 40mm variations but Rolex has brought it back closer to the original with refined updates to the lug width, lume and bracelet.
Fin note, this watch was sold on 4:20 and ate on the card.
In a modern context, this is a sportier Oyster Perpetual but still hold the same mood ranging from Don Draper of Mad Men to Lil Jon and the East Side Boyz in “Get Low”. I guess we are saying that this watch can go anywhere and do anything.
Overall, this is super clean and show minimal signs of wear except under lug there is a light scratch from a bracelet change. Still under warranty until April 2029
