Onhold Rolex Oyster Date ref. 1500 Earth Projection Cartography Dial
Email or IG message to make a negotiable Zelle or wire offer
Rolex Oyster Date ref. 1500 Earth Projection Cartography Dial circa 1968 (193#### serial)
The Oyster Perpetual aka the OP is arguably the most popular modern model, even over steel sports offerings—the date also arguably had better proportions than the 36mm Datejust. The simplicity mixed with casual luxury is an easy choice, especially with the size and color variations. Reference 1500 was produced from approximately 1962-1979.
Here we have a dial with wild patina that looks like a map of an Earth projection—it plays lovely with light though the warm acrylic crystal. For modern watch enthusiasts, it looks like what the brand Awake is doing—this is just from the late 1960s
Overall, this is an honest example which appears all original and relatively unpolished with consistent light wear throughout. While no service history, this one is healthy on both wrist and Timegrapher: data is provided but your experience may slightly vary.
