Rolex Oyster Royal ref. 4444
Email or IG message to make a Zelle, wire or venmo offer
Rolex Oyster Royal ref. 4444 circa 1940s
An oyster at one of its earliest and purest forms. Reminiscent of the Bubbleback but more traditional shape, this 33mm sized case with factory case holes on the non-crown side. While no service history, the automatic movement is running as we as it can for a 1940s timepiece.
When it comes to vintage, both condition and dial are the most important points. The condition overall is excellent. The dial, like most from this era is refinished as it should say “swiss made” at 6 o clock. However, it appears to be done well and early. The hour and minutes hand appear to be untouched and the lume plots match in color and quality: they light up for a few seconds and die, consistent in color. The seconds hand looks food but unsure if a replacement. The Arabic numerals look nicely touched up as opposed to free and painted—they are naturally raised. Lastly, perhaps the overall alignment is a couple seconds off.
Timegrapher, videos, movement, pix:
