Rolex Submariner ref. 16800 circa 1984

The epitome of Neo-vintage here. Perks of such an era? Vintage elements such as creamy tritium hands and markers paired with an “open” font in the datewheel but modern caliber workhorse movement and sapphire crystal.

The 16800 featured the introduction of uni-directional click bezel, sapphire crystal and quickset date. It was also fitted with the 3035 calibre movement with higher frequency.

While service history is unknown, this one is running smoothly and timegrapher data is excellent. Lastly, it is paired with an H-code stamped oyster bracelet pointing to 1983  which is appropriate and period correct—tritium lume is dead as it should be.
