Rolex Submariner 5513 Meters First Dial circa 1966
While the Submariner is hands down the most iconic diver, the 5513 specifically is arguably the champion of all Rolex divers. The production ran from the early 1960s until 1989. Within that span, there were 3 general variants. This is one of the early variants:: matte dial with tritium markers (no gold surrounds), acrylic crystal, and friction bezel insert.
The “Meters First” 5513, refers to the printing of the depth rating on the dial beginning with meters and being followed by the equivalent in feet. When collectors deep diver into a model or even a reference, they will find a 4-digit Rolex to almost be a whole brand or universe on its own with all the variations and subtle details.
Overall, the stainless steel case is in very good honest condition—no damage but definitely signs of wear and polish. While no service history it is also running as smoothly and as accurate as it can. The tritium lume on the dial is deadname has aged perfectly
Art is included with the watch
