Rolex Submariner Date ref. 16800 circa 1986 serial: 93#####
The Submariner is not only quintessential Rolex but also arguably one of the most iconic dive watch designs.
Model 16800 is a transitional reference, which not only strikes with a unique look but it is also collectable variant produced from approximately 1979-1988 with matte black dial and tritium markers that were painted as opposed to the later ones with gold surrounds: very desirable vintage elements and charm yet also paired with a modern sapphire crystal and quickset movement. Even better, this variant dons its original datewheel with “open” 6 and 9 font.
While no service history, this one runs like an ace, movement is very clean, and data is super healthy on timegrapher—your experience may slightly vary. Overall, both case and bracelet have wear, relatively unpolished, no damage on case, bezel insert has scratches (watch comes with extra clean black service insert)
