Rolex “Coke” GMT Master ref. 16700 circa1990
Coined the “Coke” for pilots used the black and red insert for a 12 and 24 hour distinction, this GMT is from 1990 with an E-serial on case and tritium dial.
The GMT Master as opposed to the “Master II” is a thinner watch and the automatic 3175 calibee movement features an independent quickset date. So why the 16700? It is considered the “last gmt” and the end of an era born in 1988 and only lasting 5 years. It also houses the 3175 caliber automatic movement which enables seconds hacking and independent date change. While no service history this one is running smoothly and looks healthy in timegrapher: +6sec/day, 275 amplitude and no beat error
Timestamp on Timegrapher, video, and album:
classic 40mm case x 20mm bracelet
No box or papers
No damage, light signs of polish
* will consider trades that make sense but please consider time, shipping, and trade value—not market.
* will accommodate wrist size with appropriate amount of links
local special: can possibly accommodate at ButterScotch in Downtown Long Beach by appointment. All sales final unless the watch is misrepresented or lost in transit (always fully insured). Lbwc does not offer warranty but some watches come with factory card with transferable warranty
